Join KYO on Sunday 29th March, 4pm at the Ku-ring-gai Town Hall, Pymble on our journey to far-off lands in the first of our 10-year anniversary concerts for 2020. Featuring The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Paul Dukas, and Dvorák’s New World Symphony, both the young and the young at heart will appreciate the orchestral magic through these iconic tunes.

Famously set to animation in Disney’s Fantasia, Dukas’ tone poem depicts the predicament a young sorcerer lands in, after attempting to use magic (in which he is not fully trained) in an attempt to finish chores without hard work.

The New World Symphony evokes Dvorák’s experiences in North America, using inspiration from Native and African American folk songs and the ‘wide-open’ prairie landscapes, resulting in one of the world’s most recognisable masterpieces.

After feasting your ears on Dukas and Dvorák, you’re welcome to help yourselves to our afternoon tea, post-concert. We hope to see you there!
